Having played World of Warcraft for nearly 4 years, I have compiled a list of 10 best World of Warcraft gold farming strategies.

1. Each profession in World of Warcraft is unique and gold can be made through every one of them. However, if you want a CONSTANT flow of gold coming in, ‘gathering’ professions are always better ‘crafting’ professions.

2. When leveling or grinding for gold, you should vendor all the ‘grey’ items (lol, duh!). You should post ALL the other items onto the Auction House.

3. We all know how well Dusts and Essences sell in the Auction House, instead of vendoring or auctioning the greens that you find, tip an Enchanter to disenchant them and sale the dusts and Essences.

4. Using addons, the Blizzard interface is fine, but addons that adds additional information such as Gatherer and Auctioneer helps tons.

5. Become a personal supplier of Ores, Herbs, Skinning Mats to “crafters” in top guilds. You could sell your goods at a lower price, but there won’t be an Auction House cut and this will guarantee sales.

6. Here’s a Mining tip, Silver and Tin nodes share a spawn point. Same thing goes with Gold and Iron; and Truesilver and Mithril. It’s just that one is a rarer spawn than the other. For example, if you are only looking for Silver, you must mined the Tin nodes too, because if you don’t, eventually there will be nothing but Tin nodes left.

7. Like Jewelcrafting, I foresee Inscription to be big in the Wrath of the Lich King. Get this profession if you already have characters with maxed gathering professions.

8. Prior to a WoW Seasonal event, purchase or farm items that are needed during these events. During certain times of the years, prices of certain items skyrocket. This is an excellent time to reap in the profits.

9. Understanding the basic World of Warcraft economy. It revolves around the basic concept of supply and demand. There must be both for any gold to be made.

For example, in Realms where level 70 players dominates the majority of the population, the price of some lower level items may be very high, this is because higher level players need these items to level new professions or getting items for their Twinks.

10. WoW is very fair, there is no single way to farm the most gold, there are many! Just find the way that suits your play style the most and enjoy your way of gold farming. It’s a game after all!
