About The XBOX 360

Along with two of their gaming console competitors, Nintendo and Sony, Microsoft was attempting to dominate the market while attracting new customers all the time. As the competition between the three got ever more heated, Microsoft launched their Xbox 360 that became available for purchase at the end of ?05.

In response Microsoft?s two main competitors also launched their own consoles to rival with the Xbox 360 that had basically built on to the original Xbox making use of the same powerful gaming engine. Game developers can now produce games that keep players entertained for untold hours with the excellent graphics and fascinating realism. Because of the newer console the Xbox 360 has taken gaming to a new level. Despite the launch of the new consoles by Nintendo and Sony, the Xbox 360 continues to ride the wave of success by generating new sales every day, both for the console itself as well as the games.

It all began when Microsoft released what was considered an entry version, the Core, which retailed at around four hundred dollars. Later on the Core was replaced by the Arcade version. Unfortunately this version made a few mistakes and now there is the Pro version that contains a hard drive as will. Over the years Microsoft has continually worked on enhancing the Xbox system by adding larger capacity and also superior hardware. As a result problems that pertained to the temperature of the console, or the noise created by its operation have been addressed and rectified.

The next and most expensive of the Xbox 360 range to be introduced to gamers was the Elite version which includes a 120 GB hard. It is finished in an attractive matte black and comes with a set of matching earphones. The Elite also comes with its own HDMI 1.2 cable, which, for those who do now know, enables the games to be played in full 1080p. This is something that the earlier models do not have and so customers have to buy a rather expensive cable if they bought one of the other versions aside from the Elite.

All of the models are capable of playing XBOX 360 games that can be found in stores so choosing the least expensive model shouldn’t leave you out. Each configuration also includes a composite cable for standard play and a 1-month Gold trial, Silver XBOX Live membership for online play.[youtube:OgScgOHe9jI;[link:XBOX 360 Mod Chip?];http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgScgOHe9jI&feature=related]

Manufactured by IBM the Xbox 360 come equipped with a Tri-Core CPU. Microsoft also makes use of an ATI chip which is not the one they used in the older systems. With these new features games have taken on a quality unseen before.

Because of the way the Xbox 360’s games are formatted they can fit on a single disc. But it is not only games that can play on the Xbox 360. Both dad’s and Cd’s can also be played, making the Xbox 360 rather versatile.

As already mentioned the Xbox 360 is a Microsoft development and because Microsoft is so closely linked with computers it is not at all surprising that many of the games for the Xbox 360 can also run on yr computer, and vice-versa. Whereas serious game enthusiasts will appreciate this console so will casual less ardent players as well. Thanks to this all gamers are more able to increase their own gaming library.
