Mobile technologies are more than just dual-action processors that help your computer run faster and more efficiently. It also refers to mobile technology, such as pocket PCs, Smartphones and PDAs. You have to stay abreast of technological terms if you hope to understand the latest techno-gadgets that are available on the market. Sure, there will be some terms that apply to more than one thing, but it never hurts to learn all you can about technology, for when it comes time to make your hand-held purchase.
One piece of mobile technology that you need to check out is the HP iPAQ Pocket PC HX4700. This is the top of the line model, as far as mobile technologies go, and has received fantastic reviews from both users and the editorial staff of CNET. You can find these reviews at www.cnet.com and take a look at the 7.9 and 7.3 reviews. The website gives insight to new gadgets so you can compare, side to side, with other hand held devices.
The reviews come from its outstanding performance and speed.
If there is a downside to the HX4700, then it’s all in size. It is a bit bulky, but is still a very sleek pocket PC. There is a small handicap present when the user first operates the new touchpad and this can translate into poor gaming, for those that use their pocket PC for gaming in particular. If you are in the market for a pocket PC for gaming purposes, then you may want to turn to Dell’s Axim.
There are other mobile technologies on the market today that can be bought for far less than the HX4700’s price tag. However, few can match its performance power. One of its chief competitors is Apple’s new iPhone, which users have fallen in love with for its extra capabilities, such as the use of an iPod and a gaming Smartphone. Whatever you decide is up to your own unique preferences and your own personal needs.
One opponent in the mobile technology market is Apple’s iPhone. Users of the iPhone are hard pressed to find many drawbacks to this product other than the price, which is a whopping $399. Before you make any purchase, first determine your needs and take a look at the individual specifications of each hand held.

Apple MacBook Air in short is super small, super fragile, and super light. Just a slight tap on the screen closes down the system completely.
Since Apple MacBook Air is the lightest, it has been able to surpass other MacBook in that category. the slimness of this MacBook sets this in the center of attention. The total depth of .76 inches toward the back tapers down to .16 inches toward the front bezel.
The design of this laptop makes it stand out in a crowd. The curved design makes Apple MacBook Air have a thickness of only 0.4 centimeters at most parts of the laptop. Other laptops have a flat level of thickness all over and this could be the reason for these laptops looking thicker.
Absence of connectivity ports and an optical drive contributes to the limitations of this laptop. There are many innovative features, such as standard voltage processing parts and a full size keyboard, that make up for all limitations. The utility of an optical drive is reduced by having an internet connection.
Apple MacBook Air offers preinstalled software. It includes Mac OS Xv10.5 Leopard operating system, Address Book, Quick Look, Safari, Photo Booth, Time Machine, Spotlight, Spaces, Dashboard, iTunes, iDVD, iPhoto, iLife’08, Xcode Developer Tools, Front Row, iMovie, and iWeb.
Apple has always been an active participant in environmental group Greenpeace in recent years. Apple has enclosed its MacBook Air to suit all environmental concerns. This laptop sports a completely recyclable aluminum case. All circuit boards are BFR and PVC free. Apple has been the first to have a mercury-free display with arsenic-free glass. The retail packaging uses fifty-six percent less packaging material than MacBook packaging. Apple MacBook Air is Energy Star 4.0-certified and EPEAT silver-compliant.

We all know that one of the great things about living in this modern era is that we can now do things that seem to be very much impossible for us years ago. One of those things aside from the development of the PC and the internet is laser eye surgery.
It is no secret these days that laser eye surgery can be in many cases a very good way for people to forego the struggle of having to live with bad eyesight.
However no medical procedure, no matter how advanced it is, is without risks. In most cases with laser eye surgery everything goes go to plan though.
Aside from the already publicly known risks in laser eye surgery, here are some of the other more dangerous rarer complications that are usually not talked about.
Possible Risks
Besides the commonly known complications in laser eye surgery such as over and under correction, there are other more rare complications that can take place.
Central corneal islands are small areas of raised tissue that show up on the cornea when the laser used during surgery does not remove tissue uniformity. Thankfully this complication only happens to one percent of patients.
Your doctor may simply prescribe corrective contact lenses to cure this problem or you may be able to have more surgery to attempt to correct the problem.
DLK or diffuse lamellar keratitis as it is known technically is another complication known to take place in eye surgery when foreign bodies manage to find themselves within the corneal flap.
When this occurs a patient can experience blurred eyesight, more than normal sensitivity to light, possibly some pain and or the sensation that something is trapped in the patient’s eye.
When patients experience these types of symptoms, they must immediately talk with their doctor, even after years of surgery. A common remedy for this is for your doctor to prescribe oral and topical medication to cure the condition.
Then there’s the epithelial in-growths which can occur when cells from the corneal epithelium start growing under the corneal flap. This can significantly affect vision.
Also, there is the corneal ecstasia that may weaken the cornea and make it bulge after surgery. This occurs when the surgeon creates a deeper incision during the flap creation process then necessary or when he or she removes too much corneal tissue.
When this occurs the only available option is to perform a corneal transplant to put the damage right.
After reading this article you may be feeling a little more uncertain about laser eye surgery. Nevertheless it is important to remember that these complications only take place a very small percentage of the time. But of course before undergoing surgery you should evaluate whether it’s worth that small risk to you.

The project management profession as well as the businesses who are realizing the advantage of using project management technology are seeing big advances in business. IT project managers naturally turn to software and hardware for help in developing project techniques, putting them into practice, controlling projects, and assessing them every step of the way. Other fields from construction project management to sales management now need to get on board the technology train to successful project management.
A good project manager should be able to use both project management technology and analytical skills to simplify and automate tasks and then provide a detailed summary of complex projects and the technical issues associated with them. A single person or even a team of people could not organize and sort through the thousands of related factors and then categorize them with the speed and accuracy that project management technology management is capable of doing.
Any intelligent company should have the business acumen in the field of project management technology. This is manifested by hiring or training a qualified project manager and management team. Certified project managers need to stay up to date on the latest standards and technology methods as seen in the PMBOK. To maintain certification, certified project managers need to have continuing education credits. Part of such training is the use of management technology.
Small businesses with budgetary constraints may opt for basic, one size fits all software and hardware to cover their project management needs. However, for larger, more complicated projects, project management technology might need to be specifically designed to fit the project. The skill of the project manager comes into play in choosing and using these tools.
One of the most important areas to receive training in is that of project management technology. Otherwise, you are subject to receiving harmful advice that could decrease the chances of success in your project. There are many formats of training available, ranging from books and websites to classes at a local college.
When selecting project management in any of its many aspects, it is important to stay with experienced, certified and/or licensed professionals who have a proven track record. It is also exceedingly important to choose people you can work with productively. It is a rare case where any amount of proficiency at a task overrides the requirement to communicate and work well with a team.
The profusion and increase in project management technology is steadily improving the field of project management, and with it the success of those businesses who realize its importance. For those who were involved in it project management, the use of software to improve upon the techniques of project development was an obvious coup. However, other fields of project management from construction project management to sales management, are also starting to see the potential. To be confident in your choice of project management professional, no matter the field, be sure to hire only experienced, certified, and highly recommended professionals, preferentially with experience in the field that you seek.

Nowadays, life is so demanding.
The pocket PC Smartphone is not a new invention. The Blackberry PalmOs and other pocket PCS have been around for quite some time and have proven to be quite useful. Cell phone companies have jumped on the bandwagon recently with a little bit of prodding from Apple. Thanks to Apple’s iPhone, which debuted in the United States on June 29th, 2007, more companies have found themselves competing against Blackberry and Palm.
So why use a Smartphone or a palm pocket pc? Well for starters, they are incredibly versatile.
What can you expect from a Smartphone? You can expect PC software such as Outlook, Word and even Excel as applications. This means that you can open and edit documents while on the go. That is a huge plus factor over earlier models of phones and PDAs. Most new Smartphones, like the iPhone, have added music players, text messaging, cameras and even voice recorders, as a way to entice new customers into making the jump from Apple to other manufacturers, such as Nokia and Motorola.
The iPhone is an expensive piece of technology that you may find works to your advantage. It does have a lot of great capabilities, but there still is the hefty price tag attached to it. How expensive? Try a whopping $399 that does not include any discounts. If you are in the market and have decided to purchase a pocket PC Smartphone or any pocket PCs for that matter, then the best thing you can do is shop around. You may be able to find a great one by signing up with a cellular provider that can offer you a discount in exchange for a new contract.
Most phones prior to 2008 were running on Windows Mobile 5, but with the debut of Windows Mobile 6, more applications have opened up for use and there is more processor speed behind these small cell phones. The iPAQ Pocket PC is a prime example of faster running speed, but lacks the communication power of the iPhone. The iPhone has definitely set the standard for cell phones!
You do not have the time and patience to lug around a laptop to keep track of your important appointments, not to mention it can be difficult to find the space you need to set it up. You need something that can keep track of your appointments, let you work on important documents and be able to send emails, all the while allowing you to make and receive calls. What you need is a pocket PC Smartphone.

When thinking home security most of us will be thinking about the latest alarm systems, infrared motion detectors etc that we have recently seen advertised in some advertisement. We all know the basic logic behind these devices, whenever your home is in danger whether that be because of break-in or fire etc an automated alarm system will go off and or contact your local police station/fire station.
Once the system has gone into action soon after your home will be visited by the authorities and everything should be cleared up. That may have been it for many of the older systems but today’s technology can do a lot more, especially with all the new wireless home security technology available today.
Most wireless security devices have evolved far beyond simply not needing wires. Utilizing our new global Internet and wireless technologies we can now have a home security system ring our mobile phones to inform us of a problem, and we can even access the live video from our home wireless video cameras from anywhere in the world accessing the Internet!
Today’s home security technology can now detect any kind of problem in the home with the help of multiple types of sensors and devices. Carbone monoxide, smoke, temperature and motion sensors are just a few that can be deployed.
Even if you could not be contacted the local authorities would be, and so the issue would be dealt with whether or not you were anywhere near your home.
You can even program your device to activate certain wireless security lights in different areas of the home as you see fit, or if there is an attempted break-in. You can also do this with your security cameras and even access them live via the Internet from anywhere in the world.
With this kind of technology fires and thieves are no longer the only thing you can watch over. For instance with motion detectors you could even monitor whether you’re household animals, or kids for that matter, were attempting to go to places they weren’t allowed.
And that’s not all, why not also make use of temperature sensors to make sure that your greenhouses, wine cellars etc are always at the correct temperature.
And of course with the new wireless home security systems out today the installation is a total breeze thanks to the fact that there is no need for any wires.

Zune movies are some of the best things to have on your Zune player. They are much better to have in the sense that they offer more entertainment than music does. Plus, you can also share these videos with other people so that they can enjoy them just as much as you do.
Download Sites - These videos can be downloaded from different sites, including the Zune Marketplace and other sites where you pay a one-time fee for unlimited downloads. But what if you want to turn your current DVD collection into a format that can be played on your Zune? Well, this is possible too and there are things to learn about your Zune so that you can convert your own movies for it.
Knowing The Format
Zune can’t read DVD format so you’ll have to learn just what formats are suitable for the device. There are actually three formats that the Zune can read so that you can watch your own converted movies. These formats are known as WMV, MPEG-4, and H.264.
WMV and MPEG-4 Format - The first two formats are probably the most easy to remember and there are more available converter software for those formats because they are common. The WMV format is the most common for Microsoft, as it is better known as Windows Media Video. This is a compressed format that can be played on the Zune and also can be played on Windows Media Player on your computer. This is probably the best one for your Zune player. MPEG-4 is also an advantage because it can be played on Quicktime player and also on iTunes. It really is up to you which format you want to use.
What You Need
Three Basic Things - Now, when it comes to making your own Zune movies, you will need three things. First, you will need a PC that has a DVD reader/writer. Secondly, you will need software that will allow you to convert your DVDs into any of the previously discussed formats. Lastly, you will also need a lot of space on your hard drive so that you can store the converted file.
Softwares for Free - Now, there is a lot of free software that you can use and these software packages can be downloaded from the internet. A quick Google search will point you to sites where you can download the needed software. You can also buy professional software which will probably be the best thing to do if you want to edit movies the way you want them to appear on your Zune.
Synchronizing It - Once you have converted the DVDs into a format that you are comfortable with, you can simply sync those files into your Zune the way that you would sync files that you have downloaded from unlimited Zune download sites. Remember that the software you use will determine just how easy the conversion will be.
Freebies Software - Some of the best software that you can use is available for purchase but there are some reliable converters that can be downloaded for free. Just make sure that these files do not also come infected with viruses or spyware that might damage your computer. Follow the simple instructions that come with the software that you purchase or download and you should be set with all your favorite Zune movies ready for the mobile world.
